Behold, Treasures!

I am amazed by what i saw just now at the track.. Orion a.k.a the hunter. Its really a wonder being able to see so many treasures up in the skies of Singapore which people cease to notice nowadays.

Well, this photo is not taken by me and what i saw is not exactly the same. The stars that i saw doesn't shine so bright as in this photo but still, it's visible to the eyes. I did some googling work just now and found some facts about this constellation:

Orion's current name derives from Greek mythology, in which Orion was a gigantic hunter of primordial times. Some of these myths relate to the constellation; one story tells that Orion was killed by a giant scorpion; the gods raised him and the Scorpion to the skies, as Scorpio/Scorpius. Yet other stories say Orion was chasing the Pleiades (a.k.a. the seven sisters).

Orion's brilliant stars are found on the celestial equator and are visible throughout the world. From mid-northern latitudes, Orion is visible in the evening from October to early January and in the morning from late July to November.

So look up the sky now. You might be able to see one too. Try spotting the belt first (the three stars which form a line) and you'll be able to find the rest.
